This course will introduce the concepts of computer systems security at the network, operating system and application level. Topics will include: security analysis, threats identification, risk assessment, Internet and Web application security, runtime security and role-based security. Students will be exposed to the basic concepts of authentication, authorization and cryptography. The student will be assigned to a project team to review the computer security plan in the Information Technology department of a health organization.
