This course introduces the student to Structured Query Language. The topics discussed include Data Definition Language to create and modify a table’s definition, and , Data Manipulation Language to extract and modify data in a table. This course will consist of practical, hands-on exercises (in class and assignments) covering comprehensively aspects of SQL programming, using various relational database management systems (RDBMS) such as Oracle, MySQL, and MS Access. The exercises will be introduced in a paced, conceptually structured manner and, when appropriate, side-by-side with their theoretical counterparts, in order to facilitate understanding.
