This course provides students with a broad overview of the many facets of computing science in order to lay the foundation for understanding higher level information systems concepts. The lab component of this course will explore, through examples and practical work, the fundamental aspects of computing and will demonstrate applications with relevance to health informatics. The course will also require students to analyze, think critically and engage in discussions about ethical issues in computing.
